We can see this to be true when looking at the traditional methods of instruction within the educational system. The teachers/professors are the keepers of knowledge, and the students are empty receptacles for knowledge to be bestowed upon, in, or into. After the modern era, and moving into the postmodern era, multiple new theories, beliefs, ideologies, understandings, and practices of educating began to emerge.
